Treble Crochet

In english books, you can read it like this...   tr or trc .
In an international book that uses symbols, read it like this or you may see it to be this way ....

A treble crochet or tr is the next basic stitch after the double crochet. It is used when a long stitch is needed within a crochet design.

Step 1: Place the yarn twice over the hook and then insert the hook through the two upper strands of the stitch to be worked, draw the yarn through the stitch.

Step 2: Catch the yarn over the hook, and draw it through first two loops on the hook.

Step 3: Catch the yarn over the hook again, and pull a new loop through the next two loops.

Step 4: Catch the yarn over the hook again, and pull it through the two remaining loops remains in hook. One treble crochet (tr) made.

When working the first row of treble crochet on the foundation chain, start your stitch in the sixth chain from the hook ( 4 skipped chains count as your first treble crochet, 1 skipped chain count as foundation chain).

When working the treble crochet (tr) on the next row, always chain 4 ( 4 chains count as your first treble crochet), then turn, skip first stitch and start your second treble crochet in the next stitch.

Double Treble Crochet:
Work as the treble crochet except wrap the yarn three times over the hook instead of twice and take two loops off four times instead of three.

Triple Treble Crochet:
Work as the treble crochet except wrap the yarn four times over the hook instead of twice and take two loops off five times intead of three times.
